Call for Trainer: Training on Diversity and inclusion

1.  Background

The European Network of Political Foundations (ENoP) is a cooperation structure, serving as a
communication and dialogue tool between the European political foundations and the Institutions
of the European Union (EU), as well as civil society actors in the fields of democracy support and
development cooperation. Furthermore, the network provides services to its members to facilitate
their participation in the respective programmes of the EU.
The network counts over 50 member foundations from 23 EU Member States. The members are
affiliated to six political party families represented in the European Parliament (Renew Europe,
EPP, S&D, ECR, Greens/EFA, GUE/NGL), but are independent in their decision-making and
financing of international projects.

The activities of political foundations in the fields of democracy support and development
cooperation include public campaigning and awareness raising, advocacy work vis-à-vis political
institutions and decision makers in their respective home countries, as well as the EU level. The
main focus, however, is on the implementation of democracy support and development projects
with local partners in more than 100 developing and transition countries throughout the world.
Since March 2019 ENoP is implementing an EU co-funded action grant, called “Strengthening ENoP
as actor in support of democratic and pluralistic societies”. The current capacity-building training
takes place in the fringes of this project.

2.  Purpose of the training

This training is a first general introductory training on this topic for ENoP members. The purpose of
the training is to provide ENoP members with an in-depth understanding of the principles of
diversity and inclusion as well as strategies and practices to achieve a diverse and inclusive

The training will be online and should be structured in a way to provide awareness and a concrete
set of strategies they can tailor to the profile of their work to implement and create a diverse and
inclusive environment at their activities.

The training should be articulated around the following points: 1) Introduction to the principles of
diversity and inclusion 2) Inclusiveness in activities and 3) best practices.

3.  Tasks to be performed

The expert will prepare a 2-phase workshop (equal to 1 day) on Diversity and Inclusion. The
workshop should include the following elements:

  • Introduction
  • What is inclusion?
  • Civility and sensitivity
  • Inclusion in activities (outreach, selection of speakers…)
  • Exchange of good practices (include examples of online events)

This list is indicative and non-exhaustive. The trainer should suggest a more detailed and
articulated programme.
Every component of the training should be backed by a practical exercise with the group aiming to
keep the interaction and attention of participants.

4.  Target group

The participation of the workshop is limited to 15 participants in order to be able to engage
actively in the practical exercises. ENoP members are political foundations from different EU
member states and political affiliations. The size of the foundations varies to a large extent,
depending on the national context. The members attending the training will possess different
levels of knowledge and experience on the topic.

5.  Methods

The training should apply interactive and participatory tools, involving all participants.
It should include practical exercises, which are close to the reality of the participants’ work.

6.  Deliverables
  • Receipt of training offer by 25 January 2021
  • Training agenda and presentation of the training concept by 1 February 2021
  • Moderation and facilitation of a one-day online training via Zoom or other interactive
    online platform used by the Trainer (in total 6 hours of training that should be divided
    among 2 workdays).
  • Ensuring a recording of the training for the exclusive use of ENoP members (desirable)

Date: End of February 2021. Please, state the dates of your availability in your offer.
Location: Zoom online platform (or other online platform that the Trainer uses).

8.  Language

The workshop language is English.

9.  Profile and expertise

ENoP is looking for a trainer with the following profile:

  • Particular expertise on diversity and inclusion principles and strategies
  • Track record of successfully implemented trainings
  • Profound expertise in developing training concepts and in conducting trainings
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent English skills
  • Experience with diversity and inclusion in the work environment will be considered as an

Travel costs: non-applicable
Hotel accommodation: non-applicable

11.  Awarding criteria

Best value for money. The evaluation team will place an average weight of 60% to the price
component and 40% to experience and content of each offer.

Experts with the above-mentioned profile are kindly invited to send their CV, outlining their
relevant experience, and their expected overall fee for the preparation and the facilitation of the
