Meet the Youth Advisory Board (YAB)

Meet Agaba Nelson, member of the WYDE Political Parties Youth Advisory Board

Agaba Nelson is the National Youth League Coordinator of Uganda’s Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) party and a member of the WYDE Political Parties Youth Advisory Board.

In this video, he explores the social, cultural and institutional barriers that prevent young people from participating meaningfully in politics, from age-based discrimination to high nomination fees and costly electoral campaigns.

Drawing on his experience within political party structures, Nelson calls for greater youth representation in decision-making and sustained investment in mentoring, training and leadership development. His message is clear: political parties must create opportunities for young people not only to participate, but to help shape their countries’ future.
