The new ENoP Board

During the 2023 ENoP Annual Thematic Meeting and General Assembly, which took place on 26-28 June in Brussels, the ENoP General Assembly elected its new Board.

Over the past year, ENoP has been undergoing a structural transformation, with a Task Force of members working on reshaping its governing bodies and structures. As a result of this, we are happy to share our new Board, which reflects the political and geographical diversity of the Network:

PRESIDENT

Jules Maaten
Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung für die Freiheit • Germany • Renew Europe family

Jules Maaten is Regional Director of the European Dialogue programme of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF), managing the Brussels, Madrid and Prague offices, including projects in UK, France, Italy and Hungary. He was previously Head of International Regions and Deputy Head of the International Department at FNF Headquarters in Potsdam. Prior to that, Jules Maaten was Regional Head of the Subsahara Africa Region of FNF in Johannesburg, and before that Country Director of FNF Philippines in Manila. From 1999 to 2009, he was a Member of the European Parliament, and from 1992-1999 Secretary General of the Liberal International in London.

Panayiotis Kakolyris
Konstantinos Karamanlis Institute for Democracy • Greece • EPP family

Panayiotis Kakolyris is an ENoP Steering Committee Member & Head of International Relations at the Konstantinos Karamanlis Institute for Democracy. He is teaching digital communication subjects in various academic institutions. He also publishes articles on AI ethics, social media, active citizenship, populism, and the future of Europe.

Katya Koleva
Institute for Social Integration • Bulgaria • S&D family

Katya Koleva holds a Master of Economics, Specialized in Harvard Kennedy School and the Moscow School of Political Studies and graduated a programme of the US State Department for leadership development. Professional experience in the banking sector, NGO and private sector and state administration. Two terms (8 years) of office as elected municipal councillor. Founding member of the Women Union in the Bulgarian Socialist Party in 2005 and still member of its National Council.

Anna Schröder
Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung • Germany • The Left family

Anna Schröder has been working from 2009 - 2021 as coordinator, advisor and assistant to MEPs and Chairs of THE LEFT in the European Parliament before becoming director of the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung Brussels and Madrid Liaison Office in 2021.

TREASURER

Robert Križanič
Povod Institute • Slovenia • Greens family

Robert Križanič is the Director of the Institute Povod, ENoP member from Slovenia, as part of the Green political family, since 2010 and is a member of ENoP Steering Committee since 2021. Other positions include: co-coordinator of the first civil mission of Slovenia in Afghanistan, 2011-12, under the auspice of the Slovenian MfA National coordinator of the Anna Lindh Foundation, the main structure for the cooperation of civil society in the Euro-Med region - 42 countries of the Union for Mediterranean, since 2012 Chair one mandate and currently a board member in the National platform for development and humanitarian NGOs in Slovenia SDG Watch Europe.

Mikaela Hellman
Centre Party International Foundation • Sweden • Renew Europe family

Mikaela Hellman is the International Officer of the liberal Centre Party in Sweden, as well as a board member of the Centre Party International Foundation (CIS). In her role as International Officer, she coordinates the international relations of the party and works on the party’s policy development within foreign- and security policy through the party’s International Committee.

Jakob Bec
Inštitut dr. Janeza Evangelista Kreka • Slovenia • EPP family

Jakob Bec served as a Steering Committee Member of ENoP and is the current coordinator of EPP Political Family. Before this appointment he was performing duties as Deputy Coordinator of ENoP. His active career within ENoP started as a member of two Working Groups: Sustainable Development and Future of Europe. Since 2019 he is successfully running political foundation IJEK (Slovenia).

Uroš Jauševec
Društvo Progresiva • Slovenia • S&D family

Eternal Secretary General. Formerly of the Youth Forum SD and Social Democrats (SD) in Slovenia. Now of Društvo Progresiva. Expert in the functioning of political parties and political foundations.

Florian Horn
Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung • Germany • The Left family

Florian Horn works as Programme Coordinator in the European Office of the-Rosa Luxemburg-Stiftung in Brussels, Belgium. His main areas of interest are trade and economic policies of the European Union.

Therese Näsman
Green Forum • Sweden • Greens family

Therese Näsman is currently the Secretary General Green Forum. Therese is a passionate sustainability professional with over 15 years of experience working within political organisations, civil society and local authorities focusing on energy, environment, democracy and human rights.
