A European Union-Funded Initiative to Strengthen Inclusive Political Participation
Brussels, February 2025 – The European Network of Political Foundations (ENoP) and its partners — Friedrich Naumann Stiftung (FNF), Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), Kristdemokratiskt Internationellt Center (KIC), Green Forum, and Centerpartiets Internationella Stiftelse (CIS) — are proud to announce the official launch of activities under the WYDE Political Parties Project in Africa.
This transformative initiative, funded by the European Commission, focuses on empowering women and youth in politics across six countries: Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, and Tanzania. Despite progress, systemic barriers such as entrenched norms and economic constraints continue to hinder inclusive representation. WYDE Political Parties tackles these challenges by fostering inclusive political practices, strengthening democratic institutions, and enhancing collaboration between political parties and stakeholders.
The first phase of activities will include:
- Capacity-building workshops for women and youth leaders within political parties.
- Mentorship programs connecting emerging leaders with experienced political actors.
- Policy dialogues to promote inclusive governance and encourage collaboration among local stakeholders.
The WYDE Political Parties Project reflects the European Union’s commitment to fostering inclusive and participatory governance globally.
